Version 2026-07-18. EPM, operator of dpsim.com and distributor of DPSIM, is the controller of personal data voluntarily submitted through DPSIM contact registration and support. Privacy and data-subject requests may be sent to dpsimsimulator@gmail.com.
Data, purpose and legal basis
Contact registration requires a name and email solely so EPM can communicate about DPSIM. A problem report contains the summary and description supplied by the user and may contain an optional name and email. Only when selected by the user, sanitized diagnostics may add DPSIM, operating-system and runtime versions, UI culture, process architecture, memory use and an exception record. EPM uses this information to provide support, investigate defects and improve DPSIM. Registration and reporting are voluntary and rely on the specific consent given in the submission form; DPSIM remains usable without either action.
No silent upload
DPSIM does not silently transmit flowsheets, project files, simulation inputs, usage telemetry, computer name or Windows user name. Diagnostics are disabled by default, can be previewed before submission and are transmitted only after the user selects them and consents. A crash may create a local record on the user’s computer; local records are not transmitted automatically, expire after 30 days and can be deleted from the DPSIM Help menu.
Recipients and infrastructure
Reports are transmitted securely through dpsim.com and delivered to EPM using its website hosting and email providers. To prevent abuse, the service temporarily processes a protected form of the requesting IP address for up to one hour; it is not stored with the report. Hosting providers may maintain ordinary access and security logs, which can include IP addresses, according to their operational and legal requirements. EPM does not sell submitted data or use it for unrelated advertising.
Retention
Contact details in support reports are removed or anonymized within 12 months. Registration contact details are kept until consent is withdrawn or for up to 12 months after the last communication. Non-identifiable technical information may be retained to document software defects. Residual copies in hosting or email backups are removed through the providers’ normal backup-expiration cycle.
Your rights
You may request confirmation of processing, access, correction, anonymization, blocking or deletion where applicable, information about sharing, and withdrawal of consent through dpsimsimulator@gmail.com. Send the request from the email address associated with the submission so EPM can reasonably verify it. Withdrawal does not affect processing lawfully performed before the request.
Data minimization
Do not submit personal data about other people, confidential plant information or proprietary project content through the support channel. If a support case requires such information, first agree on an appropriate channel and purpose with EPM.
